We are very happy to announce the availability of “Washoe”, our new full-length album released in February 2016. Washoe contains 12 original Dead Winter Carpenters tracks and was recorded at Sierra Sonics in Reno, NV in July of 2015, and was mixed at Prairie Sun Recording in Cotati, CA in October of 2015. The album is available as a digital download, CD, and a limited edition 180-gram vinyl record. Order the album here.
Here’s how JamBase tells the story of our recording of “Friend of the Devil”:
“[DWCs] were passing through the neighborhood for a gig down in Santa Cruz when they stopped by JamBase HQ in San Francisco. It was a great day of recording as the band pulled up and parked their trusty bus “Suds” in front of our office and got to work on their “Friend Of The Devil” arrangement. As we set up, the band headed into our kitchen to rehearse. Once it was time to lay down the track, some extensive chair rearranging was needed to best capture the band in this stripped-down approach. Ultimately, we settled on arranging one of JamBase’s trusty veteran couches (one many of our readers have likely sat on at JB Holiday Party or other office event) into the shot.”
We are excited to announce DWC will be kicking off the 10th Anniversary of River City Roots Festival!!
The Music on Main will feature the best bands from previous festivals. It’s a Roots Reunion for all 11 bands.
